Measuring Your Cylinder Locks
Measuring your cylinder locks / Euro Profile locks is realtively simple, but they do come in three forms.
In all measurements, you will need to measure (in mm) the overall length end to end. In the pictures, measure a = end to screw hole and b = end to screw hole.
The first lock type, shown above, is an equal lock. In this, measurements A and B are equal, e.g. 40/40.
The second type of Euro Profile lock is known as an "offset cylinder" and is very similar to the equal lock, but in this lock the measurements A and B are different, e.g. 40/55.
In the third type of Euro Profile lock, you only need to measure length A - this is a Single lock, e.g. 10/45.
Lastly, you will also need to identify whether the lock is a brass (B) lock or a nickel finish (NP) lock.
Cylinder locks are usually easy and quick to remove and replace, requiring just the removal of a single screw to enable their release from the door.
